Dow Ends Higher After Topping 16,000 Mark

New York (AFP) – U.S. stocks closed at new records Monday after the Dow topped 16,000 for the first time and the S&P 500 breached the 1,800 mark.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 14.06 (0.09 percent) higher at 15,975.76 after reaching 16,030.28 earlier in the session.

The broad-based S&P 500 closed down 6.63 (0.37 percent) at 1,791.55.

The tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index, itself within striking range of 4,000, lost 36.90 (0.93 percent) at 3,949.07.
